Teacher Created Expeditions

If you like Google Expeditions, but want to personalize it for your class, you can create your own expedition using a 360 camera/app and Thinglink.

This is a 360 image taken in an arcade for a video game design lesson.  Students have a 360 degree view of the arcade and thinglink helps to create an interactive image just like in Google Expeditions.  Students can click on the bubbles to see videos, hear audio, or link to websites for further study.

This application can be used by teachers K12, in a traditional school setting or online.  This is an image created for a first grade teacher to help with a lesson on habitats and their living/non-living parts. 360 images can be modified in Thinglink and then uploaded to the LMS of choice  for online learning.

If synchronous online teaching is more your style, you can also live stream 360 video to your class using the Ricoh Theta S.  Using this method, you could take your students on a live virtual field trip.
